Wow Brigid, Just like it, incredible. I would agree that the Buddleia is a plant that invades any space, it grows from roof tops, from cracks in bricks, a real parasite and to think that people actually buy this plant for their gardens here!! I don't see a difference between the wild one and the cultivated version. I am in the UK at the moment, lovely weather for October, warm, dry and staying in a 1600's house with latticed windows, very old but beautiful in the lake district. Hubby is working, will see him for lunch. I just walked around the grounds but the dew was so heavy on the grass, my jeans are wet up to my knees...need to change into my boots!!

Lovely romantic image Eiken and your words painted it before I saw Brigid's picture. You're so lucky to be able to live in a wonderful old English home. I'm so jealous!

Hi, eiken.
The title drew me to this and when I read the haiku, it was not at all what I expected. This creates a very nice contrast: the beautiful, romantic vista created by the piece and the desolate emotion possible in the title.
