Lavenderblue, Lovely work here and I hope you are not cross with me for making comments on your work. scented fir glistens with snow cranberry garland that tree is not necessary as you are telling us it is a fir, it is glistening with snow and the last line, cranberry garland is wonderful because it gives that wonderful taste and colour of Christmas to bring the haiku together. Magical work, love it and please ignore my meddling if it does not work for you. E

Hi LB, I hope that you don't ignore eiken's excellent comment. She is a much-published haiku writer and knows whereof she speaks. Your thoughts are lovely, but could use a bit of paring down to achieve a true "haiku" moment. Thank you for bringing a joyous bit of the holidays to the forum.

Brigid, I was helped by you dear friend two years ago when I first started writing in general and you helped me so much. I believe haiku is a gift and to write good haiku, you just need to know the very basic rules and I hope Lavenderblue is happy to receive my input. The haiku are wonderful, all of them, they just need paring back to only what is necessary to make the haiku sing. I am loving her work and good to have more people in haikuland
