Touching commentary on a sometimes despicable world. You paint a vivid image of this horror scene. I was impressed by the power of the transferred epithet in "Whose purple fingers left their mark".

A powerful work - the measure of a poem [or any art] is it's ability to touch people, to move them. This poem meets that test with ease. I have tears in my eyes.

Thanks Fire Monkey. When I remember, I get tears in mine too. I posted this to bear witness to his pain and to express my own. No child should ever have things like this happen to them. The effects last for the rest of their lives. God bless you for caring.

though I can't claim a direct understanding [well, I deal with many bullies at school in my younger years but this is different in my eyes] I definitely feel on the topic both in specific and in general.
