Bidding Angels, come and comfort me, lift me up above my sorrow. Enfold me in your wings of love, bring me faith to face tomorrow. Whisper hope into my heart, speak to me my secret name. Remind me who I really am,and for what purpose that I came. Then, comforted, my strength regained, once more, I'll rise to start anew. But walk you, closely, by my side, and guide me in each thing I do. *** Beryle Chambers Attachments:

Aww, Beryle, this is cute. It reminds me of "Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep" in its trusting simplicity. It has an added, much more interesting metaphysical dimension, however, in that "speak to me my secret name", reminding us that we are all so much more than we think we are, known on a much deeper level than we realize. Very sweet.

Thank you Brigid. I'm glad you liked it. I have a great interest in metaphysics and comparative religions and it tends to sneak in through the cracks and find its way into much of my work and life in general. So happy to have a place to share.

I like this poem, it is a simple poem but it has something worth sharing. Some times it is better to have a poem that is direct and uncomplicated because they also tend to speak clearly. It is a lovely prayer and a well stated thought and feeling.
