Seaside Sunset Shades of silver on a deep blue day, streaks of sunlight touch the strand. Wavelets lapping from an ocean, calm. Seagull is circling the sand. Sailboat slides across the silent sea, freighters slumber in the bay. Sparkling gold path of the setting sun. Watch it - 'til it fades away. Silver lights now dot the purple hills, speech grows softer, sun is set. Heron stands up straight to watch the view. Fisherman is pulling in his net. I sit all alone and think of you. Wond'ring how and where you are. Longing to hear your voice, to see your face. Wishing for you on the Evening Star. *** Copyright: Beryle Chambers Attachments:

You paint a lovely picture and the last stanza takes the image and gives it a more personal touch. Nicely done.

Very nice images... I always find it funny in a way how we always turn to the sea and the stars for answers to the questions and wishes we throw at them. It's so universal. You poem has a beautiful calming effect... I can just see the heron standing still, the old fisherman pulling in his nets...such an ahhhh moment. Lovely!
