From the fog comes the water of life It's dew rolls down the sugar cane and collects on the leaf to ease my pain And for a time it dulls the strife
What magic is there within the leaf That gives the water so much power so it can aid me in my dark hour And so can end the gnawing grief
Life's events are so complex To make it seem no answer can be found to help the mortal man And often so our souls do vex
But in this simple water clear An answer seems to be displayed which pain and tensions takes away When leaf of sugar sheds a tear

I love the closing lines just beautiful... so filled with bittersweet. I love the idea of the dew collecting all the pain, then lingering there...a crystal clear drop, a nice metaphor for seeing through the pain. Lovely poem.

Thanks, I wasn't sure if this one might be too abstract since the images in my head are perfectly clear to me so it is hard to know if the words will be clear to others or if it just makes sense to me because I'm viewing it from within, so to speak. I'm glad that you enjoyed it.

Beautiful Tim, Sometimes the simple beauty of nature can help to heal the pain, complex indeed when we sit and think about it but if we just accept it as being so, then we tap into self healing, the best form of healing possible in my opinion. Nature nurtures
