Jack and Jill
Jack went up the hill for Jill To buy some bottled water. But he preferred the taste of beer So that is what he bought her. On his way back from the shop Jack sat down and pondered What Jill would have to say about The money that he'd squandered. And having worked up quite a thirst From carrying his load He quenched it with can of beer Then one more for the road. Yes, one beer always leads to two, Then three or even four. And so it was with Jack that day Till he could drink no more. And feeling rather sleepy From drinking all the booze He lay down in a nearby field to have a little snooze. He then staggered to his feet Having vowed to tell the truth But falling down he broke his crown And loosened his front tooth. He crawled back home and saw that Jill Was standing by the gate. She asked him where the water was And why he was so late. He said two men had mugged him And spoke of how he fought Before they stole his money and the water that he'd bought. He pointed to his swollen face and Jill began to cry. She said, "I don't deserve you Jack." If only she knew why!

Hi John,
This is so much fun. Clever line after clever line, culminating in the ultimate clever line. Poor Jill!
A great read and the perfect complementary picture to go with it!
