I resurrected this from a recent challenge. Some of us are still having hot chocolate days, even though Spring is gaining the upper hand.
On the sort of day when one thinks about hot chocolate with lots of marshmallows, held between both hands, I watch the brave little sparrows and wrens, all atwitter, with neither hot chocolate nor hands, fluttering happily at the feeders.

Brigid, I love the gentleness of this, full of the lightness of Spring in your imagery and the warmth of hot chocolate, great comfort in this poem I almost want to eat it LOL

Hi Brigid,
I agree with the others that this has a gentleness to it. Although hot chocolate days are supposed to be over, it's starting to cloud up here right now. I may just make a cup and watch the birds for a while.
I also liked the message in this piece. We humans worry so much about what we don't have, while the birds are just happy and grateful for what they do have, without ever giving any of it a thought.
Lucky birds!

i like how at first i could relate to you, then i kind of shifted my thoughts to the birds, and nature. sounds cozy. makes me think of a spring i don't really get to enjoy in the SE united states, where it's chilly in the morning, but not too chilly for the birds!
