Sorry, but I'm having trouble with this one - can't quite get a handle on it.

Tim; I believe our Brigid is referring to the hands of the clock. Brigid and I were on Twitter, trying to find new ways to find members and passing a note now and then, and she wrote this one. I know it was getting later for her, and she needed to sleep. You and I are able to stay up longer since we are on the pacific coast. Brigid is the Haiku twitter-ku queen!

Hi Deb and Tim, Thanks for your comments. Yeah, sometimes the nights get long, but that old red second-hand on the clock just keeps clicking along. Deb, thanks for filling Tim in. Tim, I'm sure you would have figured it out eventually... on the other hand... Brigid

Maybe I've been digital too long ;D

Ah, Tim, this subject is one so fraught with double meanings, I love it! That said, doesn't "digital" have something to do with "fingers"

I suppose that it - hey wait! I'm I being given the finger? [sorry - my mind runs on free association ;D] There was a time I would think "hands-clock" but now I am a bit slow on that one I love to play with words, so when I can say something and use words that give multiple meanings which could apply it is hard to resist doing so ;D

Well, Tim, if you're talking to the clock, you're not being given any fingers even if it happens to be a "digital" clock. If you're talking to me, I have ten fingers (well, technically eight fingers and two thumbs) but I'm not going to give you any of them---too hard to type without them.

Ah well, I tend to type two or four fingered - well, two fingers and a thumb or two and sometimes an extra finger. I learned to type 10 finger but I find it just as fast or even faster the way I do it - I never did get any real speed at typing

Brigid, I really enjoyed this haiku, it could have many meanings but the visuals are amazing when you read it at first, the fingerless hands, strong image and their continuous movement, and dawn, open to so many colours. Wonderful haiku

Beautiful haiku. I did see the twitter posts earlier, but honestly I'd forgotten them and I think fingerless hands works wonderfully for time with or without a clock, or so I read it. I agree with eiken about the depth here and isn't that what makes haiku so powerful! :-)
