LOL...have wanted to do this a few times myself...love the quick pace, that one crazy moment and then when you think about it...not such a good idea. A fun poem Beryle and do hope you only get the calls you want.

Very humerous but at the same time a shrewd observation. The poor phone gets the blame of course but its about a person here that does not communicate in the way the writer herself would hope for and expect. There's always that chance though that the call may come through so she can't do anything too drastic. It is funny but it also makes a statement about how we communicate - or perhaps fail to do so,

Thanks Neal. You're absolutely right that it is about communication - and about expectations and attachment to a particular scenario turning out as desired. And perhaps a bit about wishing our age of telecommunication didn't so often replace face to face visits. However, I have to reassure everyone that all my phones are intact and functioning even if they are too often silent.
